Wednesday, a bill prepared by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee was shared with the public. This bill will update the federal oil and gas leasing system to meet today’s needs. By modernizing federal royalty rates, rental rates and minimum bids to better align with state rates, public land communities, and all Americans, will be fairly compensated for our natural resources. These updates will be beneficial to rural communities utilizing outdoor recreation as an economic driver, and we are thankful for Senator Manchin’s leadership and the efforts of all the Senators who are working on the Build Back Better Act.
